Zanira Clothing

A small-batch, Nairobi-made tailoring label. I built its full-stack e-commerce platform, handling the product catalog, capsule-collection drops, and order management, plus the AI customer assistant above.

Problem

A small-batch fashion label needs the storefront, payments, inventory, pricing, and restock decisions to work end-to-end, without a large engineering or finance team behind it.

Solution

Built and maintain four coordinated services: a FastAPI AI agent (the Zanira AI Customer Assistant), a Django REST backend (JWT auth, Celery for async jobs, GCS/S3 for media, Sentry for error tracking), a Next.js 14 / TypeScript storefront (Paystack payments, NextAuth with Google login), and a separate Next.js admin dashboard. Alongside the AI assistant, the Django backend also runs a non-AI "Smart Accountant" module: fabric/labour/overhead costing, margin-targeted pricing suggestions, sales-velocity restock alerts, and P&L/cash-flow reporting: the business logic that keeps pricing and inventory decisions grounded in real numbers.

Outcome

A single platform handling storefront, payments, order management, and financial reporting, with the AI assistant now resolving the majority of customer conversations without manual intervention (see the Zanira AI case study).
